President Ruto hosts UDM leaders at State House
President William Ruto hosted a delegation of United Democratic Movement leaders, led by Party Leader Capt. Ali Ibrahim Roba, at State House, Nairobi, on 9 July 2025.
The meeting reaffirmed UDM’s standing inside the governing coalition. The President described the party as “a committed member of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance” and said regular engagement with coalition partners was crucial to assessing progress on his Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
Discussions ranged across the government’s flagship programmes — agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare and affordable housing — and the shared task of delivering development to every region, including Kenya’s long-underserved frontier counties.
The President also addressed security, insisting that the country cannot allow violence to undermine its democratic institutions — a message that resonates deeply in the north, where UDM has consistently championed peace alongside investment.
For UDM, the State House engagement was a reminder that the frontier now holds a permanent seat at Kenya’s top table.
